Evolution in Pokemon is something that has been around from the 1st generation and will be around till the last. Evolving a Pokemon is important for the game for many reasons:
- It helps fill up the PokeDex
- Make your Pokemon Stronger
- Makes willing battles easier
And more! So, it is important to know how your Pokemon evolves. Most evolve by Level, but when Diamond and Pearl came along, more types of evolving came along!
Gender Evolutions are the 1st one I'll talk about. Some Pokemon need to be either a Male or a Female to evolve. It's that simple really. Below are the Pokemon that evolve by Gender and what they evolve into.
Level 20 ♀ ->

Level 25 ♀ -> 
This type of evolution means, your Pokemon must hold an item and level it it. Some though, you have to Level them up in a time zone.

Some Pokemon need to be in an area for when they evolve. I don't know why, but maybe it releases some energy or something that makes them evolve.

While some Pokemon need areas to evolve, some Pokemon need to know a move to evolve. The move is in there moveset so you don't have to waste a TM to evolve a Pokemon. So when your Pokemon learn the move, level it up and it'll evolve, but if you remove the move, before you level up, your Pokemon wont evolve. Remember that!

1 random Pokemon needs another Pokemon in the party to evolve. You don't lose your Pokemon though,it just helps it evolve.
